Students who participate in the dual training program of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids undergo training in the structural divisions of the company and get a job in their specialty.

Students study and hold positions of an electrician, engineer, and specialist. A professional mentor is assigned to each program participant who guides at all stages of the practical part of the training. We have concluded tripartite agreements with students for receiving education in a dual form, as well as fixed-term employment agreements. They receive an official salary monthly, and have benefits provided for the company's employees.

DTEK is a conscious and reliable company that cares about the future of Ukraine and supports talented youth. Now we have concluded partnership agreements with five educational institutions and employed 11 students. This is a mutually beneficial cooperation. Students receive real practice and experience, not just a set of theoretical knowledge. An educational institution is a practical base for students. And specialists that have already been trained for the specifics of the industry and the enterprise come to our team,” said Vitalii Shaida, General Director of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.

The key advantage of dual education is that it provides 70% of practice in the enterprise and 30% of theory in the educational institution. The program is based on the consolidation of the acquired knowledge in production conditions. Dual education prepares future employees considering the needs of the employer. After graduation, students are adapted and know how to work with the equipment of a particular enterprise. Mikhail Kustovsky is one of the graduates of the dual program in DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids, he successfully completed his training and has been working for the company for more than eight months.

I learned about the dual form of education when company representatives visited our educational institution and talked about the opportunity to study, while putting the theory into practice and, moreover, getting a salary. Since July last year, I have been working at DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids as an electrician for the distribution networks operation. I work on a rotational basis for 14 days, and I study on other days. I believe that this program gives students a chance to improve their competence and find a job even before graduation. In the future, I plan to continue building my career at DTEK,” says Mikhail Kustovsky, electrician for the distribution grids operation at DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.

In order to take part in the DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids dual training program in the future 2021-2022 school year, a student should be getting an education in an energy-related specialty, be a 3-4 year student of one of the educational institutions that has entered into an agreement with the company, fill out a questionnaire and be pre-qualified. Students can also apply for dual training through the group curator at the university.
