DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids help customers to report their meter readings quickly and conveniently via a Viber or Telegram chatbot

“DTEK strives to become the standard of customer focus and implements modern and convenient service standards. Since March 2021, there is a chatbot available in Viber or Telegram. Today, more than 100,000 customers use it, and this number is increasing every month. Thanks to the chatbot, residents of the region can receive answers to the most common questions without leaving their homes and at a convenient time for themselves, because it is available 24/7,” says Vitaliy Shaida, Head of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.

To start using the chatbot:

  1. Search for "DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids" or follow the direct link Viber or Telegram;
  2. Follow the menu prompts to receive or report the required information;

You can also submit meter readings in another way convenient for customers:

  • Merezhi Online mobile application (available in the AppStore and Google Play Market);
  • Web form on the site, no registration required. In the section you should select the area, indicate the customer account number, type of a meter and day/night readings;
  • Online account on the DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids website;
  • Voice menu to report the reading in an automatic mode. Call by phone (044) 4590740, (067) 4957040, (093) 495-70-40 or (099) 495-70-40 and hit 2. Then follow the prompts;

Readme. If the customer has a day/night meter, then the readings should be reported separately for day and night. On the meter display, the data is displayed sequentially: the amount of electricity used as a whole and then for the day and night, date, operating time of the device, etc. To take readings, please, wait for the necessary information to appear on the display or press enter to switch data until the needed information appears. The zone display has different indexes for different types of meters. The customers of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids have the following ones:

  • For a GAMA type meter, the day zone on the display will be displayed with the 1.5.8.2 index, and the night zone - 1.5.8.1;
  • NiK brand device: day - 1.8.2 or 1.5.8.2, night - 1.8.3 or 1.5.8.1;
  • If you have an NP or MTX meter, then the day zone is A2 or 1.8.2, and the night zone is A1 or 1.8.3;

Let us recall that DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids recommends that customers record meter readings monthly and report to the Distribution System Operator within three days of the month following the reporting one. If the customer reports the readings on time, then we will be in a position to form accurate consumption volumes, and the supplier company will issue accurate electricity bills.

A short video of why it is needed to report meter readings can be found here. Step-by-step tutorial on how to use a chatbot to send readings is in the video.

As previously reported, the Kyiv region is in the lockdown red zone. Therefore, for the safety of customers and employees of the company, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids does not accept customers in-person at Customer Service Centers until the epidemic situation improves. The company provides all services and reference information remotely, including through convenient online channels available 24/7. A short video about the CSC working under restrictions can be found here.
