Being a responsible and reliable company, DTEK retrofits and renovates grids to ensure uninterrupted power supply to clients. That being said, the Company is planning to retrofit and repair around 313 km of grids and install 33 unloading substation, as well as renovate 153 transformer and distribution nodes in Brovary District of Kyiv Region in 2020. Besides, Kyiveoblenergo will pay close attention to clearing of power lines along their routes from tree branches that often become reasons of fault shutdowns.

In 2020, we are investing UAH 10.7M in line with the repair and the investment programs into retrofitting of grids and equipment in Brovary District. The repair campaign funds will be directed to replacement of 66 worn pylons, 350 insulator strings, repairs of 237 km of overhead power lines, 153 transformer substations and distribution facilities. Almost half of these works have already been completed. The funds from the investment program will be directed for renovation of 53 km of overhead lines, 33 unloading substations and 10 reclosers,” General Director of Kyivoblenergo Vitaliy Shaida tells about the DSO’s this year’s plans in Kyiv Region.

According to the General Director, unloading substations will be installed in 18 settlements of the District. These include Brovary town, Velyka Dymerka township, Hoholiv village, Tarasivka village, Krasylivka village, Trebukhiv village, Rozhny village, Litky village, Zazymie village, Pukhivka village, Mokrets village, Vilne village, Kalynivka township, Bohdanivka village, Kalyta township, Pohreby village, Bobryk village, Zavorychi village. The substations will redistribute the load evenly and improve the power supply in these settlements. The reclosers will be installed on the power lines in Tarasivka, Bohdanivka, Kalyta and Kniazhychi villages. These apparatus make it possible to avoid disconnection of an entire line where a fault occurs, just an individual section of it.

According to statistics, every third fault in the District is caused by tree branches falling onto power lines. Electric engineers have cleared of branches 74 km of power line routes and are planning to clear another 39 km by the end of the year. This will allow to reduce the fault shutdown rates formidably in the District.

In May, 2019, Kyivoblenergo has been included to DTEK Power Holding. Within the first year of operation as a part of DTEK, the Company had managed to reduce the average fault rectification time by twice in the Region – from 5-8 hours to 2-4 hours. It has become possible to reduce the power lines fault rates and improve the power supply quality thanks to an overhaul of the lines and power equipment.
