400 commemorative signs* will remind residents and guests of these towns and villages about energy workers’ contribution to the restoration of Ukraine and normalization of life of Ukrainians after russian invasion.

After liberation of the Kyiv region from russian invaders by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, DTEK Grids specialists have restored 10,000 km of destroyed power lines. Almost 1,600 km of which they had to build from the ground. They have repaired 71 high-voltage substations and about 3,000 transformer substations. Joint efforts of 160 repair crews from Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Kyiv regions and the city of Kyiv have restored electricity to 260,000 families of the region in a short time – in just 45 days.

“We maintain normal life for residents of Ukraine. It was extremely difficult to perform this restoration under very difficult conditions of constant risk due to numerous mines, shortage of man-power and material resources. That is why the initiative to install commemorative signs in the most ruined towns and villages of the region is a landmark one, as it is our memory of the fight at the energy front, restoration of power supply in the Kyiv region and symbol of unity in restoration of Ukraine. Such commemorative signs have already appeared on the streets in Irpin, Bucha, Borodianka and Hostomel,” – comments Head of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids Vitalii Shaida.

DTEK energy workers have implemented such a large-scale upgrade of the grids that Ukrainian energy industry has never seen.

Under the conditions of war, DTEK group, as a responsible business and partner of the state, continues to support energy safety of Ukraine. Currently, the company is working every day to restore electricity in other regions.
