Reliable power supply for Solomianka dwellers. DTEK Kyiv Grids to overhaul high-voltage substation
The equipment is in dire need of an overhaul due to its moral obsoleteness and physical wear. The power transformer has been manufactured in 1976 and requires upgrading.
“Being a responsible and reliable company, DTEK is renovating the grids and power infrastructure to ensure every client’s home has light and comfort. We will allocate UAH 1.347M for the repairs of the 40 MVA transformer at the Solomianska substation. This will be an investment into reliable and uninterruptible power supply for the dwellers and enterprises of Solomianskyi district,” Acting General Director of DTEK Kyiv Grids Denys Bondar noted.
The repairs include replacement of all control devices responsible for the transformer’s failure-free operation. Specialists will also conduct repairs of the OLTC device enabling the transformer to maintain the constant voltage for the consumers in an automatic manner, and they will inspect all spare parts and rubber seals and rectify any flaws found. This will ensure the reliability of power supply to the clients.
The repair works will last for almost a month.
As it was reported earlier, DTEK Kyiv Grids has already begun retrofitting the local distribution node in Demiivka and is going to implement 34 retrofit projects on medium- and low-voltage grids during 2020. This is how the capital’s electric engineers are going to enhance the reliability of power lines and power equipment feeding homes of Kyivans.
