Severe weather in Dnipropetrovsk Region: DTEK Dnipro Grids crews are on the alert

According to the Emergency Response Service, it is expected that weather in Dnipropetrovsk Region will get worse during June 1-3. Rainstorms, thunderstorm, and gusts of north-east wind up to 15-20 m/s are expected. Severe weather can lead to breakage of power supply wires. Accidents and outages are already being noted in Novomoskovsk, Pavlograd and the Podgorodnoye area, where severe weather led to the power block of 7 overhead lines. Now the teams of DTEK Dnipro Grids are on the alert to eliminate the consequences of accidents in order to restore the power supply as soon as possible.

The weather event now corresponds to hazard level I (yellow). Due to the weather deterioration, DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency teams have been working 24/7 to ensure that our customers have a reliable power supply.

DTEK serves the Ukraine’s interests, takes care of its customers and does everything to ensure that their homes always have electricity and comfort. The DTEK Dnipro Grids experts have been working under no timeline and are ready to promptly eliminate accidents if necessary. Now 19 teams of 57 workers engaging 20 units of special equipment are eliminating blackouts in de-energized areas,” says Andrii Tereshchuk, CEO of DTEK Dnipro Grids.

DTEK Dnipro Grids asks residents of the region to stay at home if possible and to be careful not to approach bare wires, broken lines, open doors and hatches of electrical installations, as well as damaged poles.
