Severe weather in Dnipropetrovsk Region: emergency crews of DTEK Dnipro Grids restore power supply in the Pavlograd District

A cyclone with rains and thunderstorms is still hitting Dnipropetrovsk Region. Rough weather led to power outages. Accidents and massive power outages were noted in the Pavlograd region, where rough weather caused the blackout of 6 overhead lines of 6-10 kV. Now crews of DTEK Dnipro Grids are on high alert to eliminate the consequences of accidents to restore the power supply as soon as possible.

A squall wind and thunderstorm hitting Dnipropetrovsk Region led to blackouts on power lines in Pavlograd. As of 6PM, Pavlograd District remains the most affected by the severe weather, where 6 settlements are still partially disconnected, which counts in total about 13,000 customers. Also, several areas of Pavlograd were affected, namely Litmash, Himmash and Belbes by such rough weather.

Because of such severe weather, DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency crews have been put on full alert and will work 24/7 to provide customers with a reliable power supply and eliminate any consequences of severe weather.

Now the functionality of 2 substations and 2 deadlines of 6-10 kV has been restored. The electricity was returned to the homes of more than 10,000 residents of the region.

DTEK serves the Ukraine’s interests, takes care of its customers and does everything to ensure that their homes always have lights on and comfort. The DTEK Dnipro Grids energy workers have been put on full alert and are ready to promptly eliminate accidents if necessary. Now 5 crews having 5 units of special equipment eliminate blackouts in the affected areas. We expect that the power supply to the Pavlograd and Pavlograd Disctrics will be recovered in full today,” said Andrii Tereshchuk, CEO of DTEK Dnipro Grids.

DTEK Dnipro Grids asks residents of the region to stay at home if possible and to be careful not to approach bare wires, broken lines, open doors, and hatches of electrical installations, as well as damaged poles.
