New IT-solution: ‘Mobile Crews’ to do maintenances on electric networks across Dnipropetrovsk Region
The new software package is designed to optimize the work of maintenance crews, thereby helping to quickly restore power to customers. Our energy workers have smartphones with the mobile application. Through this app, they get tasks, record the defects revealed, and report on the done work. The workers do not waste time filling out various paper forms, which allows them to eliminate defects faster. According to preliminary estimates, the repair time can be reduced by 10-15% due to the use of such an application. Now, 95 teams of DTEK Dnipro Grids have already been trained and are working with the new software in Dnipropetrovsk Region.
“Mobile Crews is an innovative IT project that eliminates unnecessary paperwork, helps to plan routes more efficiently, move planning and reporting online. The project has already been launched in Sinelnikovsky, Pavlogradsky, Novomoskovsky and Nikopol districts, where 86 maintenance teams and 9 lines inspection teams work. The workers have undergone corresponding training. This year we plan to purchase 350 more mobiles and train more than 400 teams. Thus, we are scaling the project to the entire Dnipropetrovsk Region,” says Andrii Tereshchuk, CEO of DTEK Dnipro Grids.
Defects found during equipment inspection are immediately included into the database. This helps to eliminate them quickly, preventing equipment failure and accidents. As a result, repairs are carried out faster, and residents of Dnipropetrovsk Region receive high-quality service.
The software package consists of two products: a mobile application created by the DTEK digital technologies expert center, and the MRS planning panel from SAP, a world leader in the development of software solutions for business.
“DTEK attracts international investments and new technologies to Ukraine, creating an innovative ecosystem. We consistently introduce automation and digitalization technologies to turn Ukraine’s networks into a Smart Grid infrastructure that is reliable, flexible, and sustainable. We implement IT solutions in the daily work of teams so that our service becomes faster and better for customers. In 2020, we began to use this technology in Kyiv, in 2021 we are rolling it out in Dnipropetrovsk Region,” says Ivan Geliukh, CEO of DTEK Grids.
As previously reported, in 2021, DTEK Dnipro Grids will install 67,000 smart meters for residents for free. Thanks to such automation, every 4th family in the region will have a modern device by the end of the year.
