DTEK Grids DSO received humanitarian aid for restoration of a substation in the Odesa region before winter
One of the substations in the Odesa region was damaged by the enemy missile strike. Equipment received from international donors will help the company restore the damaged facility. This is the first humanitarian supply for DTEK within the framework of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
“We are grateful to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, Energy Community Secretariat and German government for the aid provided to promptly restore energy infrastructure of the Odesa region. After damage of the substation, local residents were provided with electricity via the backup lines, which was a temporary solution. Now, we will be able to provide more than 22,000 families with more reliable power supply, which is especially important for normal life during the heating season,” – noted DTEK Odesa Grids CEO Dmytro Hryhoriev.
Over 6,000 power facilities of DTEK Grids DSO were damaged in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions and in the city of Kyiv since the beginning of a full-scale war. The company requires further international support for restoration of the entire damaged energy infrastructure.
* The Ukraine Energy Support Fund was established in April 2022 at the joint initiative of the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko and European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson at the Energy Community Secretariat. The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine jointly with the Energy Community Secretariat and with involvement of independent experts promptly verifies the most urgent needs of the Ukrainian energy sector companies. The Fund provides governments, international financial organizations and private donors with an opportunity to provide emergency support to the Ukrainian energy sector by making corresponding grant money contributions for procurement of the required energy equipment, spare parts, fuel, payment for works and services.
