DTEK Dnipro Grids upgraded 58 km of lines and installed 15,000 smart meters prior to the heating season
Konstantin Shvager, the head of DTEK Dnipro Grids Kryvyi Rih subdivision, told the deputies that most of work to prepare the electric networks for the heating season were completed in summer. And now they are almost over.
"DTEK serves the Ukraine’s interests, ensures the reliability of electricity supply and customer comfort. While preparing for the autumn and winter season, we replaced 28 km of medium-voltage underground cable lines in Kryvyi Rih. Also, 62 transformer substations were overhauled, 11 were modernized and new unloading substations were installed in the areas of Kozachenko, Dovgyntsevo, Halkovsky Kut streets (Mudryona district), Karachuny, and the detached house suburb of PivnGZK. This will ensure high-quality and reliable electricity supply to the city's residents during the heating season," says Konstantin Schwager.
The company overhauled 19 km of low-voltage overhead lines and replaced 160 electric poles. In parallel, more than 11 km of cable networks were replaced that directly supply apartment buildings from transformer substations. In particular, in the residential areas of the Pivdenny, Hirnytskyi, Damansky, 95th block, Zarichny, 173rd block, Shydnyi 1-3, Juvileyneuy, and Sotsmisto. In total, more than 60 high-rise buildings. The energy workers also increased capacity for the reconstructed building of the city hospital №7 and checked the readiness of electric networks in other medical institutions for the new heating season.
In addition, the company cleared about 130 km of power lines from bushes and tree branches to avoid outages and failures in bad weather. And installed 15,000 smart meters in the homes of citizens, so that they can save on electricity thanks to the night rate. A total of 22,000 such meters will be installed by the end of the year.
