DTEK Donetsk Grids connected more than 700 prosumers to the grid in 2021
Sustainable development is a priority for DTEK's investments. DTEK Donetsk Grids is actively promoting green generation by developing energy infrastructure in the region and providing free access to it.
“We are creating the simplest conditions for connecting solar power systems in the Donetsk region. In 2021, we connected 706 new prosumers. Mariupol, Lyman and Manhush are among leaders. This is our contribution to the decarbonization of the Ukraine’s energy sector, the preservation of the environment and the ecological future of Ukraine,” said Oleksii Degtyarev, Head of DTEK Donetsk Grids.
According to the company, the total number of industrial green generation connected to DTEK Donetsk Grids includes 1,341 home solar power systems. By installing home PV arrays and generating electricity, Ukrainians are thus becoming more energy efficient. Moreover, they can get additional income when they sell the excess to the grid.
DTEK Donetsk Grids highlights that there is a consistently high demand for connecting small-scale distributed generation to the infrastructure of the regional power grids. The top five green energy producers in Donetsk region at year-end 2021 are:
- Mariupol – 127 new home solar power systems, 267 overall;
- Lyman – 123 new home solar power systems, 187 overall;
- Manhush – 102 new home solar power systems, 186 overall;
- Nikolske – 96 new home solar power systems, 169 overall;
- Sloviansk – 66 new home solar power systems, 135 overall;
Each prosumer can provide green electricity to an average of 10 households.
