Sustainable development is a priority for DTEK's investments. DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids is actively promoting green generation by developing the energy infrastructure in the region and providing free access to it. The demand for connecting PV panels is growing every year.

“We are creating the simplest conditions for connecting solar power systems in the Kyiv region. 3,200 families in the region are now using renewable energy sources. In 2021, we connected 818 new prosumers. Buchansky, Brovarsky and Boryspilsky districts are leading so far. This is our contribution to the decarbonization of the Ukraine’s energy sector, the preservation of the environment and the ecological future of Ukraine,” said Vitaliy Shaida, Head of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.

According to the company, the total number of industrial green generation connected to DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids includes 60 facilities and 3,162 home solar power systems. By installing home PV arrays and generating electricity, Ukrainians are thus becoming more energy efficient. Plus, they can get additional income when they sell the excess to the grid.

The Buchansky district is the leader in connecting solar power systems to the networks of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids. Here, 870 home PV panels are connected to the company's networks. Then, the Brovarsky and Borispolsky districts. Here, 452 and 392 families have switched to solar electricity, respectively.

The State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving reported that the Distribution System Operators connected 14,900 home solar power systems in Ukraine at year-end 2021. Of these, 4,500 prosumers were connected to the grid by the Distribution System Operators, which are part of the DTEK Grids Operating Holding. The Dnipropetrovsk region is the leader in connecting prosumers to the grid in Ukraine. The total number of home solar power arrays in the country has reached 44,800.
