DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators connected 4,500 new prosumers to the grid at year-end 2021
The State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving reported that the Distribution System Operators connected 14,900 home solar power systems in Ukraine at year-end 2021. Now there are 44,800 prosumers in Ukraine in total.
“Sustainable development is a priority for DTEK's investments. In 2021, DTEK Grids DSOs connected 4,531 new prosumers. Compared to 2020, the total number of such PV systems increased by 53%. We are actively promoting green generation of power in our country by developing the energy infrastructure and ensuring free access to it. This is our contribution to the decarbonization of the Ukraine’s energy sector, the preservation of the environment and the formation of an environmentally friendly future for Ukraine,” says Ivan Geliukh, CEO for DTEK Grids.
According to the company, the total number of industrial green generation connected to the DTEK Grids DSOs is 204 facilities and 13,027 home solar power systems. By installing home PV arrays and generating electricity, Ukrainians are thus becoming more energy efficient. Plus, they can get additional income from production.
DTEK Dnipro Grids is the leader in connecting prosumers to the grid in Ukraine. The company connected 2,233 privately owned solar power systems to the grid in 2021, totaling 6,279 in general. Other DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators also maintain positive trend of total connections to the grid:
- 818 new solar power systems connected to DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids; 3,162 in total;
- 740 new solar power systems connected to DTEK Odesa Grids; 1,989 in total;
- 706 new solar power systems connected to DTEK Donetsk Grids; 1,341 in total;
