The State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving reported that the Distribution System Operators connected 14,900 home solar power systems in Ukraine at year-end 2021. The total number of home solar power arrays in the country has reached 44,800. DTEK Dnipro Grids is the leader in connecting prosumers to the grid in Ukraine.

“DTEK serves the Ukraine’s interests, and promotes the connection of green generation assets, providing free access to the electrical infrastructure for all customers. Over the last year, 11 industrial green generation facilities and 2,233 prosumers were connected in the Dnipropetrovsk region. This is our contribution to the decarbonization of the Ukraine’s energy sector, the preservation of the environment and the ecological future of Ukraine,” said Andrii Tereschiuk, Head of DTEK Dnipro Grids.

According to the company, the total number of industrial green generation connected to DTEK Dnipro Grids is 75 facilities, as well as 6,279 home solar power arrays. By installing home PV panels and generating electricity, people in the Dnipropetrovsk region are thus becoming more energy efficient. Plus, they can get additional income when they sell the excess to the grid.

There are 5 leaders in connecting PV panels in the region:

  • 829 in the Nikopol district;
  • 803 in the Novomoskovsk district;
  • 748 in the city of Kryvyi Rih;
  • 551 in the Apostolov district;
