Electricity restored to almost 20,000 families in the Donetsk region: DTEK continues restoration
Over the course of a day, energy workers were able to repair the grids and restore power to residents of 18 settlements, thus restoring electricity to 19,660 families in Bakhmut, Kramatorsk and Pokrovsk districts.
Hostilities in the Donetsk region cause these power outages. Continuous shelling, missile strikes and air assaults constantly destroy the grids. For example, DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists were able to once again restore electricity to more than 15,000 residents of the Toretsk community in this difficult and constantly shelled area. Due to escalation of hostilities, energy workers have obtained a work permit from the military only 4 days after the damage of the grids by shelling.
353 settlements in the Donetsk region remain without electricity. The most difficult situation is in the areas of Sloviansk, Avdiivka, Marinka, Toretsk and Bakhmut. Energy workers have to wait for the permit from the Armed Forces of Ukraine to perform repairs.
Considering an extremely difficult situation in the region and constant large-scale damage to energy infrastructure, we ask our customers to treat the situation with understanding.
DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists are working non-stop for 129 days in a row and are repairing equipment and lines again and again, as soon as it becomes possible.
