In First Half of 2020 DTEK Kyiv Grids Paid Almost One Third of Billion Hryvnias of Taxes

DTEK Kyiv Grids is one of the largest taxpayers in Kyiv. For the first half of 2020, the company paid almost one third of a billion hryvnias to the budgets of all levels. The capital’s power supplying company is consistently fulfilling its obligations to the society and state by paying taxes and developing the energy infrastructure of the capital.

The company paid 235 million hryvnias to the central budget and increased the local budget by 47 million. For comparison, this money will be enough to finance almost half of the expenses in Kyiv for the “Big Construction” government program aimed at a large-scale construction of high-quality infrastructure in Ukraine.

DTEK is a reliable partner of the society. 282 million hryvnias paid to the budget is our contribution to the creation of a modern and successful country. Apart from taxes, our company is a consistent investor in the capital’s infrastructure upgrade. For example, last year we invested almost 400 million hryvnias in upgrading Kyiv’s electric grids, improving the quality and reliability of power supply to our customers,” – said Maris Kunickis, CEO of DTEK Kyiv Grids.

As it was reported previously, DTEK Kyiv Grids plans to completely renovate more than 30 kilometers of 10 kV and 0.4 kV electric grids by the end of 2020. 25 medium- and low-voltage distribution units and transformer substations will be retrofitted by the company. There facilities are already being equipped with modern self-supporting insulated (SIP) wires and cross-linked polyethylene electric cables, vacuum circuit breakers, transformers, distribution bays and panels, power switchers, automation equipment, etc.

In February 2020, DTEK Kyiv Grids presented the Capital Electric Grids Development Plan until 2024. In particular, it envisages the construction of four new large 110 kV substations, 51 km of 110–35 kV power lines, and the retrofitting of 1,753 km of grids and 231 power facilities in the capital by the end of 2024.
