DTEK's project #WorkOfLight has become a two-time nominee in the 2020 European Excellence Awards
#WorkofLight is a communication project that embraces five DTEK Grids (DTEK Kyiv Grids, DTEK Kyiv Region Grids, DTEK Dnipro Grids, DTEK Donetsk Grids, and DTEK Odesa Grids). DSO employees, like electricians, engineers, heads of distribution stations, shoot short videos about their daily work. They tell and show how they are eliminating accidents, upgrading networks, installing meters, saving storks, etc. They take care of customers 24×7. With this project, the company shares information with the customers, increases awareness, and reduces public negativity.
“We launched this project almost 2 years ago. We wanted to show the day-to-day work of DSOs to our customers clearly and friendly, to build awareness about the company, and show our contribution to the life of every person. And I think we did it. Over 2 years, we have filmed 570 videos. More than 700 employees of the company were involved; the total reach was 47 million. We saw positive comments from our customers on our social network pages for the first time, and these were the comments to our #WorkofLight videos. The total share of negative comments decreased from 1/2 to 1/3. People just got a better vision of our work. But we will not stop here. We are looking for new topics, new formats. To be relevant and useful to our customers,” says Diana Kladova, Head of the DTEK Grids Communications Department.
“#WorkofLight videos are our main content in digital communications. We plan to further develop this project and get even closer to our customers. We are so grateful to our electricians, engineers, and chiefs of local power grids that they could find a few minutes to shoot videos. Each participant of our project loves and appreciates his job, and speaks proudly about it,” says Yulia Bagrii, Digital Communications Manager at DTEK Grids.
