After russia’s attacks on the country’s energy system in 2022-2023, the importance of small independent power generation facilities increased tremendously. Every such new facility, connected to the grids, is a contribution to going through the difficult winter and transformation of the Ukrainian energy industry. DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids helps create conditions in Ukraine for the growth in the number of such facilities – the company connects them to its grids.

“According to the government plan for the Ukrainian energy industry transformation, capacity of green power generation should increase significantly by 2050. Over the course of the year, we have connected 704 solar power plants. Despite the war and focus of efforts on restoration of what was destroyed by the enemy, we continue our grids development projects, which allow connecting and using new renewables,” - noted Vitalii Shaida, CEO at DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.

Overall, 4,442 green power generation facilities with a total capacity of 342 MW have already been connected to the grids in the Kyiv region.
