In September, DTEK electricians have restored electricity to more than 385,000 families in 661 settlements, left without power due to shelling in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
Donetsk region remains an arena of the most active fighting. Daily shelling destroys infrastructure of grids and leaves hundreds of region’s residents without electricity. Over the past month alone, DTEK electricians have restored electricity to more than 252,000 families of the region in 333 settlements. In some settlements, energy workers perform works almost every day due to massive artillery and air strikes. Since February 24, electricity has already been restored to homes of residents of the Donetsk region 3 mln times.
South of the Dnipropetrovsk region is being constantly shelled as well. Kryvyi Rih, Nikopol and Synelnykove districts suffer from enemy attacks. In September, energy workers had to restore electricity to 132,000 families in 327 settlements of the region. Since the beginning of a full-scale invasion, power has been restored to almost 262,000 households.
89 settlements of the Donetsk region remain without electricity. DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists will definitely restore electricity to homes of all residents of the region once they obtain a permit for work performance from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Let us remind that restoration of power supply to residents of districts in the Kyiv region that suffered from occupation was completed in May. Preliminary estimates show that restoration of the grids in the Kyiv region to the pre-war level of power supply quality and reliability will require investing about 1 billion hryvnas. Of which the company has already invested over 300 million hryvnas in restoration of electricity to residents of the Kyiv region. In perspective of 2022-2023, the company requires UAH 600-700 mln. to create more reliable power supply circuits.
The company needs aid from government and international partners in the amount of about 1 billion hryvnas in order to fully restore infrastructure of the grids and develop it according to the plan and needs of residents of the region.
