Restored electricity: DTEK restored power to 25,100 families in the Donetsk region

Over the course of a day, DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists managed to completely or partially restore electricity to 24 settlements of the Donetsk region, thus restoring power to 25,143 families in Pokrovsk, Bakhmut and Kramatorsk districts.

Constant artillery shelling, missile and air strikes cause large-scale damage to the grids. Energy workers repair them again and again. For example, yesterday, specialists of the energy company, with the permission of military, were able to repair equipment and restore electricity to 9,300 households in Toretsk community. They were also able to work in Sloviansk and Marinka communities, restoring power to 7,200 and 5,500 households correspondingly. Repairs were also carried out in Avdiivka community, restoring electricity to 2,300 households, as well as in Kramatorsk and Bakhmut communities. Let us recall that Toretsk, Avdiivka and Marinka communities have been living in the proximity of the buffer zone for eight years now and are being shelled from time to time. Now, almost all communities of the region are being shelled.

The situation in the Donetsk region remains extremely difficult due to active hostilities. Currently, 341 settlements in the Donetsk region remain without electricity. The most difficult directions still are Sloviansk, Avdiivka, Marinka, Toretsk and Bakhmut. Energy workers have to wait for the permit from the Armed Forces of Ukraine to commence repairs.

DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists are working non-stop for 157 days in a row and are repairing equipment and lines again and again, as soon as it becomes possible.
