Lights back on: DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids restores service to more than 556 settlements across the Kyiv region
DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids mobile teams are working under no timeline to eliminate the consequences of extreme weather events and restore the operation of network sections broken by fallen trees as quickly as possible. We also involved more maintenance teams, and contractors. They are working 24/7 to make sure that all the customers have their power supply.
DTEK serves the Ukraine’s interests, takes care of its customers and does everything to ensure that there are always lights on in their homes. First, the energy workers are restoring power supply to socially significant consumers, such as hospitals, industrial facilities, areas with the largest number of de-energized buildings and apartments. Also, a priority is given to the repair of 35-110 kV high-voltage lines, which power most customers. When high and medium voltage power facilities are restored, the company will proceed to 0.4 kV lines that directly feed customers' homes.
On January 14-15, despite challenging weather conditions, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids people were working day and night to fully restore power supply in the affected cities and towns, so that our customers have their lights on.
As of 7.00 PM of Jan. 15, 30 settlements still have no power supply, and 41 more have no power partially. Wind gusts caused the de-energization of 34 power lines of 6-10 kV and 414 transformer substations.
The Baryshev, Boryspil and Vyshgorod power centers suffered the most from the extreme weather events. The company's energy workers restored the operation of 17 transmission lines of 6-10 kV and 261 transformer substations in the Baryshev energy center. 5 lines are still de-energized completely and 2 are de-energized partially. 93 transformer substations are still damaged there. In the Boryspil energy center, the company has already restored the operation of 24 transmission lines of 6-10 kV and 809 transformer substations. 4 lines are still completely de-energized and 1 is de-energized partially, 105 transformer substations are damaged. In the Vyshgorod energy center, the operation of 42 transmission lines of 6-10 kV and 1,225 transformer substations was restored. 4 lines are still damaged, and 75 substations are still de-energized there. The company is now busy restoring the Vasilkov substation, which supplies power to the city of Vasilkov and the nearest settlements. There, the severe weather caused a power outage and equipment fire. Three more hours are needed to restore the operation of this substation.
DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids urges people in the region to be very careful, and not to approach broken lines or bare wires. If you find wires that have fallen to the ground, broken or sagging wires, open doors and hatches of electrical installations, as well as damaged poles, please, let us know through the Merezhi Online mobile app or DM us on the DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids Facebook page.
Information about outages can be checked on the company's website in the No power? section. If your address is there, that means that the company already knows about the outage and is busy restoring your power. If you did not find your address, please report a power cut either through the Merezhi Online mobile application (available in the AppStore and Google Play Market), or Viber and Telegram chatbot, or DM us on the DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids Facebook page.
