Electricity for hospitals, communication stations and more than 125,000 families: DTEK energy workers continue restoring power to Kyiv and Donetsk regions

Over the course of a week (April 18 through 24), DTEK emergency crews were actively restoring power to settlements in the Kyiv region, affected by hostilities. They managed to restore electricity to more than 50% of all families in the Kyiv region that suffered from the russian invasion. Over the course of the week, electricity was restored to 125,000 homes, affected by hostilities in Kyiv and Donetsk regions.

Last week (since April 18), DTEK electricians have been restoring power to 78 settlements in the Kyiv region. Energy workers inspected lines in these towns and villages on a daily basis and gradually repaired electrical infrastructure. Another 34,326 families have celebrated Easter with electricity. Electricity was also restored to important infrastructure facilities: ambulance stations and village councils in Hostomel and Zahaltsi (of the Borodianka community), as well as communication station in Makariv district.

Since April 3, energy workers managed to restore electricity to over 58% of all families, left without electricity due to russian invaders. Electricity is now restored to over 83,000 families.

DTEK specialists continue restoring power to districts of the Kyiv region that were liberated from russian invaders by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On April 25, DTEK energy workers plan to perform repair of grids in 12 settlements of the Bucha district and 7 settlements of the Vyshhorod district. Energy workers from the city of Kyiv and from Odessa and Dnipropetrovsk regions are helping repair the grids in order to faster restore service to residents of the Kyiv region.

Power supply in the Donetsk region remains complicated. The most difficult situation is near Avdiivka, Lyman, Toretsk and Velyka Novosilka, where grids and substations are being constantly damaged due to active military activities. DTEK Donetsk Grids energy workers get the opportunity to repair lines after the Armed Forces provide permit for safe work performance.

Last week, DTEK Donetsk Grids electricians managed to partially restore power to 116 settlements of the Donetsk region. Overall, energy workers restored service to homes of 83,662 families. Due to active hostilities, some settlements require regular repair of grids.

Emergency crews of energy workers are working non-stop for over 2 months in a row in order to promptly restore power to settlements in Donetsk region, affected by hostilities. DTEK electricians jointly with doctors, volunteers and suppliers of the essential food and medications do everything in their power to support Ukraine and Ukrainians in these difficult circumstances.
