Electricity for hospitals, water utilities and almost 150,000 customers: DTEK energy workers continue restoration activities in the Kyiv and Donetsk regions
Last week (April 11 through 17), DTEK electricians have restored power to 156 settlements in the Kyiv region. Energy workers inspected lines in these towns and villages on a daily basis and gradually repaired electrical infrastructure. Power was restored to 100,954 houses and to the important infrastructure facilities: hospitals in Brovary and Irpin, water utilities in Bucha, Brovary and Ivankiv, bakery and brickyard in Ivankiv, fire department in Bucha, and gas distribution point in Ploske of the Brovary district.
Last week, the situation in Kyiv region has exacerbated again due to enemy air assaults and missile strikes hitting infrastructure of settlements, thus making emergency crews once again repair grids in towns and villages, where restoration activities have already been conducted. In particular, for almost 26,000 families in Brovary.
DTEK specialists continue restoring power to districts of the Kyiv region that were liberated from russian invaders by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On April 18, DTEK energy workers plan to perform power restoration activities in 35 more settlements of Brovary, Bucha and Vyshhorod districts.
Energy workers from the city of Kyiv and from Odessa and Dnipropetrovsk regions are helping repair the grids in order to faster restore service to residents of the Kyiv region. The company plans to restore service to all residents of the Kyiv region by June 1.
Power supply in the Donetsk region remains complicated. The most difficult situation is near Avdiivka, Marinka, Toretsk and Velyka Novosilka, where grids and substations are being constantly damaged due to active military activities. DTEK Donetsk Grids energy workers get the opportunity to repair lines after the Armed Forces provide permit for safe work performance.
Last week, DTEK Donetsk Grids electricians managed to partially restore power to 72 settlements of the Donetsk region. Overall, energy workers restored service to homes of 24,252 families.
Emergency crews of energy workers are working non-stop for 54 days in a row in order to promptly restore power to settlements in Donetsk region, affected by hostilities. DTEK electricians jointly with doctors, volunteers and suppliers of the essential food and medications do everything in their power to support Ukraine and Ukrainians in these difficult circumstances.
