Network reconstructions, equipment upgrades, new online services, home solar generation, artificial platforms for stork nests. All that was implemented by DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists in 2021 in order to improve power supply and quality of services for its customers.
  • New lines and up-to-date technical solutions

DTEK is a business that serves the interests of Ukraine. In 2021, DTEK Donetsk Grids reconstructed and upgraded 14 substations, 3 high-voltage lines, over 30 overhead and cable lines of medium-low voltage with total length exceeding 87 km. Major projects of the year were 110 kV Bakhmutskaya, 110 kV Dimitrovo, 110 kV Krasnoarmeyskaya substations, as well as overhead high voltage and medium-low voltage lines in Kramatorskiy, Mariupol, Pokrovskiy districts. The company has also reconstructed 5 distribution points and conducted complete replacement of 26 transformer substations with modern complete transformer substations in Mariupol, Kramatorsk, Pokrovsk, Mirnograd, Konstantinovka, Druzhkovka. In addition, the company installed 34 reclosers, which automatically turn the damaged section off and prevent large-scale blackouts in the event of an emergency.

All these efforts improved power supply for more than 100,000 households, including social infrastructure facilities – hospitals, schools, and kindergartens.

  • New services

DTEK Donetsk Grids strives to become the benchmark for customer focus and invests heavily in remote service channels. The company continues to invest heavily in remote service channels for efficient and safe communication with customers. In 2021, DTEK Donetsk Grids introduced new online services:

Additionally, company’s website now features an option of consulting an expert using sign language. In order to do that you should click the light blue ear icon in the bottom right corner and follow the instructions to obtain required information. At the same time, a special channel ДТЕК info ДЕМ was launched in Viber messenger to inform condominium chairpersons about scheduled maintenance of the grids.

All services are available 24/7, allowing residents of the region to solve any issues remotely, in a fast and user-friendly manner.

  • Home solar power systems

In 2021, DTEK Donetsk Grids connected 706 new facilities. In total, there are 1341 households connected to the company’s networks. They produce green electricity and not only do they cover their in-house needs, but they also sell the excess to the grid. Most of these home power systems are located in Mariupol – 267, Lyman – 187, Manhush – 186, as well as in Nikolske and Sloviansk.

  • Artificial platforms for stork nests and reliable power supply for customers

In 2021, DTEK Donetsk Grids installed four artificial platforms for white stork nests in Pokrovsky and Bakhmut districts. Special structures on transmission line poles enhance the reliability of power supply and help to avoid emergencies and power outages. Currently, there are 19 such platforms installed in the Donetsk region, safeguarding birds listed in the Red Book of Ukraine from death and protecting their nests from destruction. According to ecologists, over the past 5 years these efforts helped save more than 200 white storks, 120 of which are nestlings.

  • Restoration of power supply to front-line settlements

In 2021, DTEK Donetsk Grids returned electricity to residents of 17 front-line settlements. Due to hostilities, they are constantly under a threat of emergency outages and blackouts. The company restored operation of 3 high voltage lines, 9 medium-low voltage lines and 99 transformer substations, damaged by artillery attack, as well as returned electricity to 2,185 households in the front-line zone.
