Eliminating consequences of bad weather in the Dnipropetrovsk region: DTEK energy workers have already restored electricity to 19,000 customers

A reinforced team of DTEK Dnipro Grids specialists is eliminating consequences of bad weather that has been raging in the region since the evening of July 27. By Friday morning, power has been restored to 19,000 families. Repairs are underway to restore electricity to all homes of residents of the Donetsk region as soon as possible.

On Thursday evening, a heavy downpour with hail and gusts of wind passed through Dnipropetrovsk region. Trees cut power lines causing power outage in some towns and districts. The city of Dnipro, as well as Dnipro, Pavlohrad and Novomoskovsk districts were the most affected by bad weather. 

Overnight, DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency crews managed to restore power to 19,000 families. Another 66,000 families in 165 settlements of the region remain without electricity. 1,547 transformer substations and 86 power lines have been damaged. 

120 DTEK Dnipro Grids crews were engaged in prompt elimination of emergencies on the grid caused by bad weather. Energy workers are making maximum efforts to restore electricity to every home as soon as possible. 

Bad weather in the Dnipropetrovsk region remains, and, according to the forecasts of meteorologists, heavy rains with thunderstorms will last in the region until the end of the day July 28.

  • avoid power lines during strong wind;
  • do not approach bare wires and broken lines, and never touch them;
