Eliminating the aftermath of cyclone in the Dnipropetrovsk region: DTEK energy workers are eliminating power outages in the region
Adverse weather conditions continue to remain in the Dnipropetrovsk region on December 11. Frosted tree branches that fall on the wires caused failure of another 26 overhead power lines and 303 transformer substations, thus leaving more than 11,000 families in 80 settlements of the region without electricity. The most affected were Pokrovsk, Sofiivka and Krynychky communities.
30 crews of DTEK Dnipro Grids and 34 items of machinery were engaged to promptly eliminate emergencies. They put every effort to energize the grid as soon as possible. Most of the customers are to be energized by the end of the day. The works are complicated by glaze ice, difficult access to the sites of damage for the machinery and icy rain that is still ongoing in some districts of the region.
Recovery efforts are ongoing. Since the beginning of bad weather on December 8, DTEK Dnipro Grids energy workers have restored power to a total of almost 26,000 families.
Reminder: adverse weather conditions may cause fallen trees and broken wires. Please be careful, follow safety rules and do not approach the power lines.
