DTEK Donetsk Grids restored electric services to 42 frontline settlements in 2020
DTEK Donetsk Grids serves the interests of Ukraine, shares the values of community, and understands that the availability of a permanent and uninterrupted power supply is a key to the safety and comfort of the region's residents.
“In 2020, our crews made more than 40 trips to repair facilities near the demarcation line. Restoring power supply in the frontline zone is a complex process that requires a lot of coordination and time. Our power engineers themselves try to complete the work as quickly as possible, because they understand its importance. Despite the quarantine restrictions, our employees restored electricity and heating to 15,000 residents of the frontline zone,” says Oleksii Degtyarev, DTEK Donetsk Grids CEO.
In 2020, DTEK Donetsk Grids restored 2 high-voltage lines, 14 medium-low voltage lines and 126 transformer substations damaged by shooting. In total, since the beginning of military actions in Donbass, the company has restored power supply at substations and power lines more than 16,000 times.
In addition to recovery work, the company is moving equipment to safer places away from the frontline zone, where due to shooting such equipment is always at risk of shutdown. To this extent, one of the transformer substations was moved and the damaged transformer was replaced near the town of Mariinka in the summer. The energy supply to 73 households has become more reliable and of better quality.
In November, the company completed the modernization of two 110 kV high-voltage lines Kotlyarevskaya - Zhelannaya and Kotlyarevskaya - Ocheretino. Thus, we have significantly improved the power supply of the front-line Avdiivka and 21 settlements, which have more than 40,000 residents.
