The number of home solar systems increased by 12% in the Kyiv region
“DTEK is transforming its business in accordance with the New Strategy 2030, which is based on ESG principles, values and business responsibility for progress in achieving the sustainable development goals of the UN Global Compact. Every year our company is among the leaders in the number of PV systems connected to the networks in Ukraine. We create the most comfortable conditions for connecting home solar panels. Now, 2,600 families in the region use renewable energy sources. Since the beginning of the year, the company has connected 332 home power systems. Their total capacity is 8,309 kW,” says Vitaliy Shaida, General Director of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.
According to the infographics of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, today there are more than 35,400 families in the country who have switched to solar power. The total capacity of such solar power systems is 933 MW. The Kyiv region is one of the top five regions, which have the biggest number of home PV panels. So, there are 4,986 systems in the Dnipropetrovsk region, 2,788 in the Ternopil region, 2,717 in the Zakarpatska region, 2,667 in the Kyiv region and 2,525 in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
Buchansky district is the leader in connecting solar power systems to DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids. Here, 410 home PV systems are connected to the company's grids, followed by the Brovarsky and Boryspil districts. Here, 336 and 275 families respectively have switched to the solar power.
