Storm in the Kyiv region: DTEK emergency crews have been transferred into high alert mode

According to weather forecasters, difficult weather conditions are expected in the Kyiv region until the end of the day March 14. In particular, they forecast gusts of wind up to 20 meters per second. Such weather conditions caused power outages in the region. DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids crews have been transferred to the high alert mode in order to restore electricity to customers’ homes as soon as possible.

“DTEK Grids is a foundation and support for a normal life of the country and Ukrainians. Over 29,000 customers have been de-energized due to the storm. The majority of outages has occurred in Boryspil, Brovary, Vyshhorod and Vasylkiv energy centers. Our specialists are already working on prompt restoration of power supply. 76 crews are engaged in elimination of emergencies,”informed the company

DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids reminds of the following safety rules

  • avoid staying near power lines during strong wind;  
  • if you discover broken lines, please stay 8-12 meters away, never touch bare wire and inform the company immediately; 
  • in case of a power outage, do not try to perform repair by yourself. If a blackout happened in an apartment or house – call an electrician, servicing your house. If there is a blackout at the entire street – contact DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids specialists;
