DTEK to restore power supply to settlements that lost power after rough weather in the Kyiv Region

Rough weather with a squall wind, showers and thunderstorms is still hitting the Kyiv Region. Over the weekend of July 17-18, the company returned power to 101 cities and villages, which didn’t have power completely and to 135 settlements affected partially. The operation of 114 lines and 2,118 transformer substations was restored.

Forecasters say that gusty winds, showers, and thunderstorms are expected on July 19. Now, because the weather gets worse, 44 settlements do not have electricity completely and 118 partially.

Due to the challenging weather conditions, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids emergency teams have been put on full alert and are working 24/7 to return power to customers' homes as soon as possible.

DTEK is a reliable and conscious company that cares about its customers. DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids has some tips for possible massive weather-related outages: information about emergency outages can be checked on the company's website in the “Power Cut?” section. If your address is there, the company already knows about the outage and restores the power supply. If you did not find your address, report the power cut in a convenient way: via the mobile application "Merezhi Online" (the application is available in the AppStore and Google Play Market), a chatbot on Viber and Telegram, or send a direct message on the DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids Facebook page.

DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids also reminds of the need to follow electrical safety rules: in strong winds, you should not be near power lines; do not approach the broken wire closer than 8-12 meters and in no case touch it. If you find wires that have fallen to the ground, broken or sagging wires, open doors, and hatches of electrical installations, as well as damaged poles, please inform the call center as soon as possible.

A short video on why power goes out during storms can be found in the video #EnergyInSimpleWords, where which Vitalii Shaida, CEO of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids, gave answers to the most common reasons.
