DTEK Donetsk Grids keeps restoring power supply in Mariupol

Over the last day, DTEK Donetsk Grids recovered the operation of 69 transformer substations, 8 power lines despite severe weather events in Mariupol. The company's energy workers are still on high alert to return the electricity supply to the homes of all Mariupol residents as soon as possible.

DTEK serves the Ukraine’s interests, takes care of its customers, and does everything to ensure that their homes always have electricity, and comfort. For the second week, despite the rain and wind, the energy workers of DTEK Donetsk Grids are working to restore the power supply in full and return electricity and comfort to the homes of all our customers.

8 crews, 11 pieces of equipment, including 3 towers, are involved in emergency recovery work. The energy workers are restoring operation of 52 transformer substations in Primorsky and Central regions.

Yesterday at 6:30PM the Port-35 substation was cut off after a heavy downpour that lasted all day and flooding in the Primorsky District. As a result, 50 transformer substations in the port area supplying the village of Moryakov and nearby streets were de-energized. The transformer substations functionality will be restored after water pumping and maintenance of the Port-35 substation equipment.

Our energy workers are still on high alert to return electricity to the homes of all Mariupol residents as soon as possible. We involve 3 additional teams from the surrounding areas in emergency recovery work,” says Oleksii Degtyarev, CEO of DTEK Donetsk Grids. "We will keep doing our job until the power supply is fully restored."

From 1 to 4 June, there was 85.5 mm of precipitation, with a monthly rate of 50 mm. And as of June 8, the monthly norm for precipitation was twice exceeded. According to meteorologists, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls of 15-20 m/s (1 hazard level, yellow) are expected across Donetsk Region on June 9.
