DTEK Donetsk Grids restored service to more than 14,000 Mariupol customers that lost power after bad weather

“DTEK serves the Ukraine’s interests, takes care of its customers and does the best to ensure that their homes always have lights on, warmth and comfort. We recognize how important it is to restore the power supply to customers as soon as possible, especially during the New Year holidays,” said Oleksii Degtyarev, Head of DTEK Donetsk Grids. “Despite this challenging weather, our energy workers were busy 24/7 to restore power supply in the homes of Mariupol residents. During the bad weather, we returned electricity to 14,000 of our customers. "

Now the company is fulfilling individual requests from residents. There were 210 of them as of morning of December 31. 12 crews and 23 units of equipment were involved. DTEK Donetsk Grids engages even more teams and equipment from the Nikolsky division to do the recovery work. Such work will continue until the power supply is fully restored.

The bad weather in Mariupol lasted two days. It was quite challenging to do the restoration because of snowfall, freezing rain, and icing of overhead lines. The Central, Primorsky and Kalmiussky districts of Mariupol witnessed the most blackouts.

DTEK Donetsk Grids urges the residents of the region to be careful and not to approach bare wires and broken lines. If you see wires that have fallen to the ground, broken or sagging wires, open doors and hatches of electrical installations, as well as damaged poles, please, notify our call center at (0629) 450 473, (093/096/099) 4500473, or sent a DM through our Facebook page.

Information about outages can be checked using the DTEK Donetsk Grids chatbot on Viber or Telegram, as well as on the company's website in the Scheduled and Emergency Outages section.
