DTEK to invest more than UAH 31 million in the power grid of Nikopol

DTEK Dnipro Grids is consistently upgrading the lines and power equipment in Nikopol. The company will repair and replace more than 80 km of power networks and will keep the project going on transformer substations upgrade this year. Andrii Tereshchuk, CEO of DTEK Dnipro Grids, announced this during an online meeting answering questions from residents within the framework of the #SpitayProSvitlo (AskAboutTheLight) project.

DTEK serves the Ukraine’s interests, ensures the reliability of power supply and the comfort of its customers. Special attention is paid to the reconstruction of the Nikopol electrical infrastructure. Upgrades are carried out systematically to improve the quality of power supply and reduce the risks of network failures if the loads increase.

In 2020, a lot of work was carried out, many unloading transformer substations were removed, and cable lines were repaired. In addition, the cable line was repaired, which was damaged by vandals, thereby leaving residents of two districts of the city without electricity for several days. There were about 5 such blackouts in 2020. I am sure that the situation with networks in Nikopol will significantly improve after accomplishing all the plans in 2021. 8 km of the cable line costing UAH 26 million have already been reconstructed. It is planned to repair overhead lines, with a total length of 74.5 km, 15.5 km of which have already been completed. We are also carrying out modernization and technical re-equipment of transformer substations in the city,” says Andrii Tereshchuk.

Owing to the these works, we will avoid overloading of power equipment and increase the reliability of power supply for customers.

As previously reported, DTEK Dnipro Grids launched a cycle of online meetings #SpitayProSvitlo, in which experts in the energy industry answer questions from residents. The first online session was held on April 6. Within an hour Andrii Tereshchuk, CEO of the company, answered questions of residents regarding improving the power supply quality, installing, and taking meter readings, tariffication and interaction with customers.
