Restoring electricity: DTEK energy workers restored service to almost 7,700 customers and are restoring the grids in the cleared areas of Kyiv region

On April 4, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids emergency crews have completely or partially restored service to 24 settlements in Kyiv region, left without electricity due to hostilities. Service is restored to 7,696 homes. Additionally, DTEK electricians started restoring power to the districts of Kyiv region, cleared from russian invaders by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Service was partially restored to five settlements in Bucha and Brovary districts, where fierce battles were fought recently and which have already been cleared of mines by Ukrainian military. Emergency and restoration activities in the region continue, once the crews are enabled to safely perform them.

On April 4, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids electricians managed to completely or partially restore power to 24 settlements in Baryshivka, Brovary, Makariv, Kyiv-Sviatoshyn and Vyshhorod districts of the Kyiv region, left without electricity due to hostilities. Service was restored to 7,696 homes.

Additionally, DTEK emergency crews have started restoring power to settlements in Kyiv region that were cleared from russian invaders by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Energy workers of all DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators rallied to restore everything that was destroyed by the invaders. DTEK energy workers from Odessa region and Kyiv are helping to restore damaged grids in the Kyiv region.

In the course of the past 24 hours, company’s specialists have completely or partially restored service to Makariv in the Bucha district, Velyka Dymerka, Rusaniv, Kvitneve and Shevchenkove in the Brovary district, cleared from invaders by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Electricians continue inspecting energy equipment and performing restoration activities. Emergency and restoration crews start their work immediately after mine clearance of these territories. First, company’s specialists restore 110-35 kV high-voltage grids that supply power to the settlements. Then, they will start restoring 10-0.4 kV distribution grids that supply power directly to residential buildings.

As of now, energy workers have already inspected damaged equipment at 8 substations in Bucha district and are ready to start repair in order to restore service to the homes in the communities.

The company cooperates with the Territorial Defense Forces and Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to access damaged sites. DTEK electricians jointly with doctors, volunteers and suppliers of the essential food and medications do everything in their power to support Ukraine and Ukrainians in these difficult circumstances.

Residents of 473 settlements in Kyiv region remain without electricity. The situation is complicated by active hostilities.

Emergency crews of energy workers are working non-stop for 41 days in a row in order to promptly restore power supply to settlements in Kyiv region, affected by hostilities.
