Within a week, DTEK specialists restored the power supply for 159,000 families who were without electricity due to hostilities

From March 14 to March 20, Rinat Akhmetov's DTEK Grids DSOs restored electricity for 159,000 homes in 284 settlements in the city of Kyiv, the Donetsk, Dnipro, and Kyiv regions. Our specialists continue emergency recovery works and promptly repair lines and substations damaged by shelling, returning electricity to customers as soon as they receive permission from the Territorial Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

During the week of March 14-20, the first damage to the energy infrastructure in Kyiv took place: on March 18, the Vynohradar substation was damaged by a downed enemy missile, and on March 17 shelling damaged the power line on the outskirts of Kyiv twice. DTEK Kyiv Grids specialists promptly restored electricity for 63.8 thousand customers in the capital.

In the Kyiv region, electricity was restored for 63.8 thousand families in 198 towns and villages. On March 20, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids specialists restored electricity to a maternity hospital and a hospital in the Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi district in 2 hours. Yesterday, these health facilities were cut off from electricity due to fighting at 8:53 p.m.

In the Donetsk region, DTEK Donetsk Grids repair crews managed to restore power supply to 34.8 thousand families in 83 settlements. Also, our specialists promptly restored electricity to the Sviatohirska Lavra, where families were hiding at the time of the March 12 shelling.

DTEK Dnipro Grids helped colleagues from the Mykolaiv region and on March 15 powered a part of Mykolaivoblenerho substations from the Dnipro region networks. It helped to restore electricity to inhabitants of the north part of the Mykolaiv region.

In some settlements of Kyiv and Donetsk regions, electricity supply had to be restored 2 or more times due to regular shelling and damage to electrical equipment in areas of active hostilities. In particular, in the Avdiivka, Mariinka, and Lyman directions in the Donetsk region and in Makarivskyi, Irpinskyi, Vyshhorodskyi, Borodianskyi, Ivankivkyi, Chornobylskyi, Baryshivskyi, Buchanskyi, Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi districts in the Kyiv region.

The difficult situation persists in Mariupol. For more than 2 weeks now, the entire city has been completely without electricity due to damage to DTEK Donetsk Grids power lines and the high-voltage substation of NPC Ukrenergo, which supplies the city. Due to regular shelling and a complete blockade of the city, our specialists are not able to restore the operation of the networks that supply the city.

Currently, our specialists are continuing emergency recovery works. The situation is complicated by active hostilities in the Kyiv and Donetsk regions. Emergency crews have been working continuously for 26 days to promptly restore power supply to settlements affected by the fighting.

The company cooperates with the Territorial Defence and Armed Forces to gain access to the sites of damage. DTEK's power engineers, together with doctors, volunteers, suppliers of essential food and medicine, do everything in their power to support Ukraine and Ukrainians during this difficult time.
