DTEK Donetsk Grids was busy the entire New Year's holiday season restoring power supply 24x7 after weather-related power outages. In Mariupol, the company restored the operation of 121 transformer substations, and 10 power lines.

“DTEK serves the Ukraine’s interests, takes care of its customers and does the best to ensure that their homes always have lights on, warmth and comfort. We recognize how important it is to restore the power supply to customers as soon as possible, especially during the New Year holidays,” said Oleksii Degtyarev, Head of DTEK Donetsk Grids. “Despite this challenging weather, our energy workers were busy 24/7 restoring power supply in the homes of Mariupol residents. During the bad weather, we returned electricity to 22,000 customers."

Now the company is restoring the operation of 18 transformers in the Levoberezhny district and 2 transformers in the Kalmiussky district (Troitsky settlement), which supply power more than 1,200 customers. The company also fulfills individual requests from residents. 276 requests were complete during the holidays. As of Jan.4, 159 requests were in progress. 12 teams and 23 units of equipment, including 6 aerial platforms, are involved in failure recovery. The company will pursue the restoration until the power supply is fully restored.

Mainly, bad weather conditions caused the power cuts. Temperature drops with sleet and rains, which led to icing of lines, were hitting Mariupol. The Central, Primorsky and Kalmiussky districts of Mariupol witnessed the most blackouts.

DTEK Donetsk Grids urges the residents of the region to be careful and not to approach bare wires and broken lines. If you see wires that have fallen to the ground, broken or sagging wires, open doors and hatches of electrical installations, as well as damaged poles, please, notify our call center at (0629) 450 473, (093/096/099) 4500473, or sent a DM through our Facebook page.

Information about outages can be checked using the DTEK Donetsk Grids chatbot on Viber or Telegram, as well as on the company's website in the Scheduled and Emergency Outages section. If your address is there, that means that our energy workers know about the power cut. If you could not find your address there, leave a message on the company's website in the same section, or call the call center at (0629) 450 473, (093/096/099) 4500473, or message DTEK Donetsk Grids via Facebook.
