In August, DTEK Grids DSO restored electricity to more than a million homes after shelling
Last month, the enemy continued large-scale attacks on peaceful towns and villages. Despite constant security challenges, energy workers continued to work on grids and equipment repairs both in the frontline and in the more distant regions of the company’s presence. In particular, energy workers in the Donetsk region managed to restore electricity to almost 780,000 homes of local residents in August. The Donetsk region remains an arena of the hardest battles. And though restoring power supply here becomes increasingly difficult and dangerous, energy workers continue to work once the situation and the military permit.
Dnipropetrovsk region now constantly suffers from missile attacks and enemy shelling too, especially the south of the region, which is close to the area of hostilities. In August, energy workers managed to restore electricity to homes of 282,700 families of local residents.
During the same period of time, energy workers of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators restored electricity to homes of 6,200 residents of the Odesa region and 1,600 families of residents of the Kyiv region, who were also de-energized due to the attacks.
“Despite the constant enemy attacks on Ukraine in August, energy workers continue to hold the energy front. We are doing everything possible, and sometimes impossible, to provide residents and critical infrastructure with electricity as much as it is possible in the conditions of regular attacks. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, we have already restored electricity to 21.3* million families in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions, and in the capital,” – noted Alina Bondarenko, CEO at DTEK Grids.
Company’s specialists continue to work together with AFU and SES in the regions of fiercest hostilities and restore operation of the grids immediately after obtaining permission from them.
* considering that some customers had electricity restored to them on dozens of occasions.
