Heavy rain and stormy winds put the Donetsk Region energy infrastructure for 2 days to test. Bakhmutsky, Konstantinovsky, Toretsky and Limansky Districts suffered the most.

We have already returned the light to the residents of 41 settlements, restored the operation of 442 transformer substations and distribution points, 47 power lines. First of all, the power company’s specialists eliminated cable breaks due to fallen trees, which posed the greatest risk. After that, the operation of overhead lines was restored, - said Alexey Degtyarev, DTEK Donetsk Grids CEO. - So far, three settlements in Toretsky District are still de-energized. They are located in the gray zone, and we need additional approvals to do the work. As soon as we get them, we will immediately start the restoration work. We are giving our best to quickly restore damaged lines and return light to the homes of all residents affected by the bad weather."

DTEK Donetsk Grids serve the interests of Ukraine, share the values of community and understand that permanent and uninterrupted power supply is the foundation of the region residents’ safety and comfort.

DTEK Donetsk Grids also remind of a need to comply with the electrical safety rules:

  • In case of strong wind, do not stay near power lines;
  • Do not approach the broken cable closer than 8-12 meters, and in no case touch it.

In case of an emergency shutdown, clients can find information on the company's website in the Scheduled and Emergency Shutdowns section.
