DTEK Donetsk Grids restored electricity to almost 16,000 homes over the course of a week

From December 23 to 29, DTEK Donetsk Grids emergency and repair crews, with the permission of the military, managed to repair a number of grids damages and restore electricity to residents of 20 settlements, thus restoring access to power supply for almost 16,000 families. Energy workers make every effort to restore power supply in the frontline region once it becomes possible. 45 employees of the company have been honored with industrial awards for their heroic efforts, directed at ensuring integrity of the energy system during regular russian sheeling.

Despite heavy fighting in the region and constant shelling, DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists managed to completely or partially restore power to residents of 20 settlements over the course of the week, thus restoring access to electricity for 15,972 families in the Donetsk region.

Donetsk region remains an arena of the most active hostilities. Damage of the energy infrastructure due to constant shelling continues. Energy workers continue to work on restorations of the energy infrastructure, wherever possible, and when the military provide permission for works performance. 45 employees of the energy company received awards from the Ministry of Energy, Donetsk RMA and local military administrations for their contribution to providing Ukrainians with electricity during the war, working in extreme conditions and ensuring integrity of the energy system during regular russian shelling.

Our energy workers are working in extreme conditions to restore electricity to people even where it does not seem possible. They are the foundation for the normal life and the example of invincibility. Every day, our specialists overcome huge challenges for the sake of the country’s future, and we are truly proud of their courage and dedication,” – informed the company.

Let us remind that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 17 employees of the energy company were wounded during performance of restoration activities. Last year alone, emergency crews came under fire more than 60 times.

Energy workers are working 24/7 and doing everything possible to provide electricity to every home. Only together and with joint efforts will we be able to endure and overcome these dark times!
