DTEK restored power supply to almost 127,000 homes in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Kyiv regions over the course of a week
The majority of restorations last week took place in the Dnipropetrovsk region – from December 16 to 22, energy workers managed to restore power to almost 103,000 local residents. The lion’s share – due to the attack on Nikopol district on December 20, when an enemy assault caused de-energization of more than 70,000 homes. The enemy shells Dnipropetrovsk region more and more often, regularly damaging girds and leaving residents of the region without electricity.
Donetsk region remains the nucleus of the most active hostilities with daily shelling, missile, drone and air strikes. Despite the extremely difficult situation, our specialists continue to repair the grids once it becomes possible and the military provide permission for work performance. Last week, they managed to restore power to homes of almost 20,500 local residents.
Kyiv region also continues to suffer from enemy attacks. Last week, energy workers restored electricity to 3,500 families here, whose homes were de-energized due to enemy attacks.
“Despite constant enemy attacks and security challenges, energy workers continue to hold the energy front for 1,035 days now. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, we have already restored electricity to more than 16.3 mln* families in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Donetsk regions, and in the city of Kyiv. Some settlements close to the area of hostilities had electricity restored to them on dozens of occasions,” – noted Alina Bondarenko, CEO at DTEK Grids.
DTEK Grids energy workers are doing everything possible to eliminate damage as soon as possible. They commence work immediately after obtaining permission and access to the site of damage from the AFU and SES.
