DTEK restored power supply to almost 23,000 homes in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Kyiv regions over the course of a week
Dnipropetrovsk region continuously suffers from enemy attacks that regularly damage grids and leave residents of the region without electricity. From December 2 to 8, our specialists here managed to repair a number of grids damages and restore electricity to 12,900 families. The work of energy workers remains dangerous – the enemy again attacked the energy workers crew that was performing repairs in the settlement near the area of hostilities. Thanks to the prompt actions of the crew, no one got hurt, however, the vehicle suffered significant damage: the cab and the boom of the aerial platform were destroyed. Energy workers were evacuated by another vehicle and taken to safety.
Donetsk region still remains the nucleus of the most active hostilities with daily shelling, missile, drone and air strikes. Despite an extremely difficult situation, our specialists continue to repair the grids once it becomes possible and the military provide permission for work performance. Last week, they managed to restore power to homes of 6,500 local residents.
Kyiv region also continues to suffer from enemy attacks. Last week, energy workers restored electricity to 3,400 families here, whose homes were de-energized due to enemy attacks.
“Despite constant enemy attacks and security challenges, energy workers continue holding the energy front for 1,020 days now. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, we have already restored electricity to more than 16.1 mln* families in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Donetsk regions, and in the city of Kyiv. Some settlements close to the area of hostilities had electricity restored to them on dozens of occasions,” – noted Alina Bondarenko, CEO at DTEK Grids.
DTEK Grids energy workers are doing everything possible to eliminate damage as soon as possible. They commence work immediately after obtaining permission and access to the site of damage from the AFU and SES.
