DTEK energy workers restored electricity to more than 81,000 families in the Dnipropetrovsk region over the course of a week
Glazed frost is ongoing in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Power lines and trees are covered with a thick layer of ice, causing broken branches, fallen poles and more broken lines. Their have been especially a lot of outages in the southwest of the region – Kryvyi Rih district.
89 crews of DTEK Dnipro Grids are working daily on elimination of emergencies together with two contracting organizations that help repair the most difficult sections.
Over the course of a week of works related to elimination of bad weather consequences, energy workers have restored operation of 292 power lines and 2,230 transformer substations. Electricity has been restored to homes of 81,300 customers in 414 settlements of the region that were completely or partially de-energized.
Currently, repair crews focus their main efforts on elimination of emergencies on the 0.4 kV lines that supply power directly to streets and customers’ homes. The work according to requests of residents of the region is ongoing for more than 4,100 addresses. Especially difficult situation is in Kryvyi Rih, where falling of tree branches caused lots of broken submain lines. Nearly 8,000 families remain without power supply. 29 crews of DTEK Dnipro Grids are working in the city, including the ones that came from other districts.
Recovery efforts continue and will be ongoing 24/7 until electricity is restored to all customers.
