Over the course of a week, DTEK Donetsk Grids managed to restore electricity to 96 settlements, affected by shelling

From June 17 to 23, DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists, with the permission of the military, managed to access a number of grids damage and repair it, thus restoring power to residents of 96 settlements. Access to electricity has been restored to almost 70,000 families. Energy workers make every effort to restore power supply once it becomes possible and the military provide a permit for work performance. Since February 24, 2022, specialists of the energy company have restored power to a total of more than 5.1 mln families* in the Donetsk region.

Over the course of a week, DTEK Donetsk Grids emergency and repair crews managed to completely or partially restore electricity to 96 settlements, thus restoring electricity to homes of 69,173 families in the frontline Donetsk region. 

Including Sunday, when energy workers were able to repair a number of damages and restore electricity to 5,300 families in 19 settlements, de-energized due to constant shelling. 

The situation in the Donetsk region remains difficult. According to the head of the region Pavlo Kyrylenko, shelling of the Donetsk region continues. In particular, Kostiantynivka suffered a powerful attack from the MRL “Smerch”. Other communities of the region are being shelled as well. 

118 settlements remain without electricity, as specialists of the energy company do not have access to work there. Energy workers will definitely restore electricity to all residents of the region once they obtain a permit for work performance from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists are working non-stop for 517 days in a row and are repairing equipment and lines once it becomes possible.
