DTEK restored electricity to 112,000 families in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions over the course of a week

From April 29 to May 5, energy workers of the DTEK Grids DSO have restored power to 111 settlements, thus restoring electricity to homes of 112,000 families in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions, de-energized due to constant enemy shelling. Specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators repair the grids, destroyed by the enemy, immediately after obtaining permission from the AFU and the SES.

The enemy is launching strikes on the Dnipropetrovsk region more and more often, including the south of the region, which is close to the area of hostilities. Our specialists managed to repair a number of grids damages and restore electricity to 56,500 families over the course of a week.

Donetsk region still remains an area of the most active fighting. The region is exposed to constant shelling, missile and air strikes that destroy energy equipment on a daily basis. Energy workers restore electricity supply once the shelling subsides and the military provide permission for work performance. Last week, they managed to restore electricity to homes of 53,400 families in the frontline region.

Odesa region is also getting hit by enemy strikes more and more often. Over the course of the week, energy workers managed to restore electricity to 2,500 families.

“For 803 days now, energy workers have been holding the energy front and providing Ukrainians with electricity in the conditions of increased risks. Since the beginning of a full-scale war, we have already restored electricity to 12.2 mln* families in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Donetsk regions, and in the city of Kyiv. Some settlements close to the area of hostilities had electricity restored to them on dozens of occasions,” – noted Oleksandr Fomenko, CEO at DTEK Grids.

DTEK Grids energy workers are doing everything possible to eliminate damage as soon as possible. They commence work immediately after obtaining permission and access to the site of damage from the AFU and SES.
