2,789 power facilities restored after shelling: 1,000 days of DTEK Dnipro Grids tenacity
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, enemy actions caused damage to thousands of DTEK Dnipro Grids power facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk region. This includes complete destruction, when lines or substations had to be built a new, and partial damage, when company’s equipment suffered from fragments of missiles, drones or shockwave. Over this period of time, energy workers restored operation of 2,650 power lines and 139 substations and other electrical infrastructure facilities, damaged due to enemy strikes. Some of them had to be restored on dozens of occasions in extremely difficult conditions. Thus, the most shelled grid, which powers three coastal villages near ZNPP, has been repaired 63 times. And there was an extremely difficult restoration activity conducted on the boats in the Nikopol district in order to raise 35 kV lines that fell in the Dnipro bay.
“Southern districts of our region, close to the area of hostilities, suffer the most. The invaders hit them with artillery, missiles and drones. They target power facilities and hunt the vehicles of our crews that go for repairs. Over these 1,000 days, we have repaired more than 11,000 km of power lines. And we will keep doing it as long as it will be required, as electricity is a basis for normal life and tenacity in the face of an enemy. Our energy workers turned into heroes, who save people from darkness every day,” – noted DTEK Dnipro Grids CEO Andrii Tereshchuk.
During this time, energy workers of the Dnipropetrovsk region learned to work in the bullet-proof vests and to the whizz of shells. They learned to determine the proximity of an enemy drone by sound and promptly repair damaged equipment during uncertain standstill, raise high-voltage lines, destroyed by guided missiles attacks, in a matter of days, while working round-the-clock. After liberation of Kyiv and Kherson regions, our energy workers were restoring the destroyed grids together with their colleagues. And they helped energy workers of Odesa and frontline Donetsk regions during complicated emergencies. They managed to mobilize and go through two hardest heating seasons in history – and they are ready to do that again.
Even during constant attacks, we continue to provide power supply to businesses, schools, hospitals and other important facilities. A unique service – schedule of stabilization power shutdowns – allows fair distribution of scarce kilowatts and planning everyday lives under any circumstances. Since November 18, accurate schedules of shutdowns without “grey zones” are now available to our customers on the company’s website and in the Viber and Telegram chatbots.
Understanding that mobility in the conditions of war is a very important aspect of life, we actively develop remote customer services. Despite all difficulties, over the past 1000 days, DTEK Dnipro Grids expanded chatbot features – you can get information about the cause of power outage, file a request for restoration, schedules of shutdowns. The personal user account allows ordering any meter-related services, while the “Agreement Online” service – register electricity distribution documents.
