DTEK Grids implements high-level service standards. Smart meters are the basis for modern energy infrastructure and building Smart Grid in Ukraine. These metering devices automatically transmit readings of the consumed electricity, which saves the customer’s time. S/he does not need to submit this data to the company through online services or a call center. In addition, the new meters are dual, meaning that they have two indices for daytime and nighttime use. Therefore, the customer can enjoy the benefits of a night tariff, which can significantly reduce electricity costs*.

Distribution system operators of DTEK Grids are implementing their investment programs to ensure that the home of each of our customers is well lit and comfortable. We consistently introduce automation and digitalization technologies in order to turn Ukraine’s networks into a Smart Grid infrastructure, which is reliable, flexible and sustainable. In 2021, distribution system operators will install smart meters for another 122,000 of our customers in 5 regions where DTEK Grids operates,” says Ivan Geliukh, CEO of DTEK Grids.

The company said that there would be 820,000 customers in the smart electricity metering system taking into account the installation of new meters in 2021.

DTEK Dnipro Grids will install 67,000 meters of the new meters, and DTEK Kyiv Grids will install 51,000 meters in Kyiv.

DTEK Grids DSOs install smart meters in residential buildings with worn out metering devices and low metering accuracy as part of their investment programs. There will be no additional charges from our customers for installation of such meters.

As previously reported, in February, DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators launched new Viber and Telegram chatbots for 12 million customers. The chatbot helps customers to get the needed information automatically 24/7, including getting answers to frequently asked questions, report emergencies and receive notifications about power outages.
