DTEK Dnipro Grids restored power to over 3,000 residents of the Kherson region

Emergency crews of DTEK energy workers restored service to 3,642 residents of 13 settlements in the Kherson region that were left without electricity for over a month due to hostilities. Restoration activities were conducted upon AFU approval at the request of colleagues from JSC “Khersonoblenergo”. DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency crews are now headed to the Kyiv region to help restore power to settlements, liberated from russian invaders.

On April 8–9, DTEK electricians managed to restore power to 13 settlements in the Kherson region, which is partially occupied, thus restricting local energy workers’ ability to promptly restore operation of lines, damaged by shelling. In particular, they managed to restore service to villages of the Vysokopillia district: Krasnivka, Svobodne, Kamianka, Pryhiria, Rozivka, Kochubeiivka, Zahradivka, Orlove, Nova Shestirnia, Rivnopilla, Svitlivka, Mykilske and Natalyne. Overall – 3,642 residents.

Besides, DTEK Dnipro Grids energy workers have restored power to 40 private houses in Velyka Kostromka of the Dnipro region, which also suffered from shelling.

DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency crews are now helping to repair broken grids in the Kyiv region, liberated from the russian invaders by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Energy workers from Odessa region and the city of Kyiv are also working in the Kyiv region.

Emergency and restoration crews start their work immediately after mine clearance of these territories. First, company’s specialists restore 110-35 kV high-voltage grids that supply power to the settlements. Then, they start repair 10-0.4 kV distribution grids that supply power directly to residential buildings.

Energy workers cooperate with the Territorial Defense Forces and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to access the damaged sites.

Earlier, DTEK Dnipro Grids has provided power supply to six large substations of “Mykolaivoblenergo” JSC, left without electricity due to shelling. The company is ready to provide further assistance to all Distribution System Operators of neighboring regions, affected by hostilities.

In case of shelling or damage to power supply facilities, company’s operational crews are ready to perform emergency restoration and recovery activities. Employees have specific guidelines related to working in emergencies and are provided with everything needed to restore operation of equipment in case of damage upon obtaining permits from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
