2025 Eco Summary of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids: ISO 14001, decarbonization and responsible waste management

In 2025, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids passed the supervisory audit and confirmed its compliance with the international standard ISO 14001, thus certifying efficient environmental management system, responsible for waste management and implementation of solutions to reduce the environmental impact. International auditors Gcerti Ko., LTD highlighted the systematic approach to collection of waste, support for biodiversity, participation in public initiatives and development of the ecoculture in the company. This is an important step towards European integration and compliance with sustainable development standards.

“Even during the war, we continue to work on reducing the environmental impact. For us, it is important to ensure reliable power supply and to comply with ESG principles. We continue to improve the waste management system, support environmental protection initiatives and engage employees in the environmental projects,” — noted Vitalii Shaida, CEO at DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.

In 2025, 16 new waste containers have been installed. Their total number is 89. 161 tons of waste (scrap metal, worn tires and used lead batteries, etc.) have been forwarded to reuse (recycling). Four new shielded sites for safe waste storage have been built and 1,262 LED lamps have been installed.

Company’s specialists take part in public environmental initiatives: within the framework of the “Precious Plastic” project, 113 kg of caps from PET bottles have been collected and sent for recycling last year, and 291 kg – since the launch of the initiative. Distribution Systems Operators support regional greening initiatives — 30 fruit (peach) trees and nearly 3,000 one-year pine and regular oak saplings were planted in Vyshhorod district in 2025.

In 2026, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids continues implementing environmental programs.
