DTEK Donetsk Grids to renew the energy infrastructure of Mariupol
“DTEK is transforming the business by introducing high-level standards of customer service. We use a customer-centric approach to assess our infrastructure annually. And we plan our work accordingly, focusing on the benefits
Networks are one of the most important components of infrastructure. The length of networks in Ukraine is 5 times longer than the length of roads. Power facilities need regular diagnostics and upgrade. To achieve this, the power workers do maintenances on a regular basis. This prevents possible malfunctions and ensures uninterrupted power supply to our customers.
To avoid equipment failures, DTEK Dnipro Grids identifies potential areas of concern and include them into the plan for replacement, repair and maintenance.
“DTEK is a business that serves the interests of Ukraine and upgrades conservative energy area, making it more efficient. This year we are investing about UAH 1 billion in the repair and development of the energy infrastructure across Dnipropetrovsk Region. We need to turn off the power supply during repairs to ensure safety of our power workers. This is called "scheduled outage". The safety of people who repair equipment depends on this,” says Andrey Tereshchuk, DTEK Dnipro Grids CEO.
So that power supply interruptions do not come as a surprise, DTEK Dnipro Grids includes such work into the outage plan and notifies people about them.
You can learn about the planned power outages and check if your address is in the maintenance list by visiting the company's website, namely the Scheduled and Emergency Outages section. There is an interactive map works for convenience. This allows customers to prepare themselves and avoid the inconvenience caused by planned outages.
The schedule indicates the maximum shutdown period required for maintenance. Nevertheless, our crews try to get the job done as quickly as possible and reduce the discomfort for customers.
If the customer could not find his address in the list, then a blackout may have occurred. Customers can inform the company about it.
You can also learn about planned outages and report an accident using Telegram and Viber launched by DTEK Dnipro Grids.
It should be noted that DTEK Dnipro Grids continues to implement the European technology for carrying out maintenances without turning power off. Last year, more than 16,000 works were carried out using this technique with minimal disruption to our customers.
that they will bring to our customers. To this extent, we are planning to reconstruct the distribution point on the 8 Marta street in Mariupol in 2021. This will ensure a reliable and uninterrupted power supply for more than 13,000 residents in the villages of Mirny, Azovkoltso in the Kurchatov Microdistrict”, says Oleksii Degtiarev, DTEK Donetsk Grids CEO.
Installation of eight new high-tech, complete transformer substations that meet modern requirements will ensure that residents of Prospect Mira and Nakhimov, Kuindzhi, Semashko, Bohdan, Grachev, Lazarev, Flotskaya, Bahration, Stalevarnaya, 1st and 2nd Slobodka streets, and Prokatnyi lane have power and comfort in their homes.
In addition, DTEK Donetsk Grids will modernize two 110 kV substations. The linear and transformer bushings of the ‘Gorod-8’ substation will be replaced in the Levoberezhny District, and the batteries of the ‘Gorod-3’ substation in the Kalmiussky District.
The power workers will reconstruct old, out-of-date 0.4 kV power transmission lines to improve the reliability of power grids in the Central and Primorsky Districts. Three new overhead lines with a total length of 5 km will significantly improve energy supply for 2,000 residents in Kharlampievskaya, Mitropolitskaya, Georgievskaya, Architect Nielsen, Havana, Rybnaya, and Zheleznodorozhnaya streets.
In addition, DTEK Donetsk Grids consistently improves remote services for customers. So, Viber and Telegram chatbots have become available for all the residents in the region starting 2021. Using the new communication channel, customers can submit meter readings, report emergencies, and get answers to frequently asked questions.
