DTEK Donetsk Grids restored service to residents of 7 settlements, left without electricity because of hostilities
DTEK Donetsk Grids serves the interests of Ukraine, shares the values of the society, and recognizes that permanent and uninterrupted power supply is crucial for comfort of people in the region.
On February 19, Company’s workers restored power to Vasylivka and Orlivske. On February 20, they restored operation of the overhead line in Novoluhanske. Thus, restoring power to heat distribution network and waste treatment facilities of Novoluhanske, and restoring heat supply to local residents.
“Performance of restoration activities in front-line settlements within the grey zone requires additional coordination with the JCCC (Joint Center for Control and Coordination on Ceasefire Issues) and involvement of representatives of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the OSCE. The mechanism for performing repairs near the buffer zone is regulated by the relevant Procedure set in force by the Combined Forces Commander’s decree. Permission to perform emergency restoration activities in the front-line zone can be granted only after obtaining bilateral ceasefire guarantees, – said Oleksii Degtyarev, General Director for DTEK Donetsk Grids. – As soon as we get required permissions, we immediately commence activities to restore power. Since February 18, we have restored power to over 7,000 households in 7 settlements.”
It is worth reminding that on February 18 Company’s workers managed to promptly connect an overhead line and 22 transformer substations, thus restoring power to residents of Stepne, Solodke and Slavne in the course of few hours. Additionally, energy workers restored normal operation of 110 kV substation that supplies power to Krasnohorivka. However, on February 20, Krasnohorivka was once again left without electricity due to hostilities.
In total, since the beginning of military actions in this area, DTEK Donetsk Grid restored the power supply at substations and power lines, left without electricity because of shelling, over 16,000 times.
